Moving on can be difficult, not many of us like change and we do not accept it, we look back at what we have "lost"

We need to learn the lesson and move forwards, so far in my life it has been true, and even when it was such a good thing that ended, later on I realized the bigger picture.

I have peace.

Treating Infertility with Hypnosis

Many women are struggling with Infertility. Often a medical cause is ruled out and the couple are left with no answers as to why they are unable to conceive.
However there is an answer to the problem... Hypnosis.
Using the latest techniques Hypnosis can uncover the underlying cause.
During our childhood we can conclude incorrect beliefs about ourselves, such as being unworthy.
This is enough to mentally ruin our chances of having a baby, because in the back of our sub conscious mind we are not good enough, we do not deserve, therefore we don't even go there.

Hypnotherapy can resolve issues like these and with positive suggestions and programming, the client is now ready to try for the baby they always wanted.

Nail Biting Worries.

Nail Biting can be a bothersome issue, especially when we are an adult.

For some of us, it is simply a habit we formed as a child, and something we have to really work on to control.

I had a client come to see me for nail biting and we uncovered an interesting reason behind it.

when he was a young boy, he used to get angry a lot and used to throw his toys and tantrums in the middle of the store, his mom would chastise him and send him into his room later for quiet reflection.

It was at these times he would feel guilty for upsetting his mom and would bite his nails so low that they would be sore for days.

He did this as a form of self punishment for being naughty.

So with this issue dealt with he was able to overcome the issue at hand!

Hypnosis Explained

Hypnosis in itself has always been a mysterious. From its beginnings, people have been awed and others have been skeptical. Frank Mesmer (where we get the term mesmerize) thought hypnosis had something to do with magnetic fluids, while today many people think hypnosis is a tap into the subconscious. Consequently, when asking what hypnosis is also depends on who is asked. More subjective people will explain it in more phenomological terms. On the other hand, more objective people will explain it in more behavioral terms. Analyzing hypnosis comes down to two schools of thought: special state and non-special state.

Special State

For those who believe in special state, hypnosis is a way to tap into a trance that is unattainable otherwise. For example, a person can lift 30 more pounds than they normally can while in a hypnosis induced trance. Articles have been published claiming that a person in a trance has different brain waves than that of a person in a normal state. Others have opined that these reports are media friendly and exaggerated.

Non-special State

Skeptic and some scientist explain hypnosis has simple acts of human behavior in certain situations. For one thing, compliance can play a big role in hypnotic feats. As in stage hypnosis, the subject may want to cooperate with the hypnotist. On the other hand, some subjects may actually believe that they are in a trance, and this belief may be enough to perform strange phenomena such as eating an onion on stage effortlessly. Tests actually show that people who are encouraged to do something without being in a trance perform just as well as people who are in a trance. What this means is, as in the earlier example, a person being prompted to lift 30 more pounds than usually can do so in a normal state.

Inducing a Trance

With the two schools of thought out of the way, there are staples in what needs to be done during a hypnotic process. The first step would be getting the person into a relaxed state. You can do this by telling him to simply relax. Next, a good hypnotist would do what is called pacing and leading. Hypnosis is not about magic words but is actually about making the person feel as if they are entering a trance. An example of pacing and leading would be to raise your hand above the subjects head, forcing them to stare up. Knowing that this will cause increased blinking, the hypnotist will tell the subject that the deeper they go into the trance, the more they will start to blink (pacing) and that their eyes will grow heavier and heavier until they close completely (leading). The pacing, or telling the subject something will happen that is normal and attributing it to a trance, causes the subject to feel as though he is going into a trance and therefore will accept the leading of closing the eyes all together.

The next step is to deepen the trance. This is done by even more relaxation. A good way of doing this is for the hypnotist to count down and tell the subject with each decrease in numbers, he will feel even more relaxed than the number before. This should get a responsive subject into a state where suggestion can be elicited.

Conclusion

Theory of hypnosis is divided between two groups and is hard to explain with great confidence, but there will always be techniques that are essential to put someone into a trance state. Hypnosis really comes down to relaxation and the ability to lead the subject in a trance state. The mystery of hypnosis is demystified by understanding it may not be exactly as spectacular as once thought. It may even be considered the ultimate placebo.
Once suggestions are given to the client, healing can then occur.

Manage your Pain.

Great Article here on Pain Management.

Hypnosis has been proven effective in helping control chronic pain, one of the most common reasons for patients to seek medical care, yet many doctors and patients still fail to buy into this powerful healing tool.
“A lot of people don’t understand hypnosis, and some are fearful by what they see on television about it,” said hypnotherapist Susan Sawyer, who acknowledges that only a small percentage of the clients she sees in her Satellite Beach office seek help with chronic pain issues.
The British Medical Association and the American Medical Association approved the clinical use of hypnosis more than 50 years ago. According to studies published by the National Institute of Health, hypnosis can provide significant relief for chronic pain, defined as pain that persists for six months or more. In a study of breast cancer patients by Mount Sinai School of Medicine, individuals who participated in a 15-minute session of presurgery hypnosis reported a 53 percent decrease in pain intensity and 74 percent decrease in nausea, when compared with patients who did not go through hypnosis.

If hypnosis works, why don’t more people use it?
“Pills are easier,” said Dr. Kathy Doner, a physician who practices hypnotherapy in Melbourne and Sebastian. Only about 10 percent of Doner’s hypnotherapy clients seek help for pain management.
Doner, who practiced internal medicine before, was a fan of hypnosis right out of medical school. She remains an anomaly in the medical profession.
“Doctors are not at all trained in hypnosis,” she said. “I was the exception.”
Doner became interested in hypnosis when she viewed a video of one of her medical student friends who underwent nasal septum deviation surgery without the use of anesthetics.
“The only anesthesiologist was the hypnotist,” she said.
When blood gushed out during the procedure, the patient was able to diminish its flow, just through hypnosis.
Physicians refer patients to Doner and Sawyer, but it is usually only after a patient suggests it or the physicians themselves have tried it and personally witnessed its efficacy.

Hypnosis is a great way of using your own resources to deal with pain.

You never know what you don't know, until you know!

Today I am writing a story of a client.

I know the family and asked if I could help, as i know there were some medical issues going on and it was at the stage where she was to scared to go and have a pap smear for fear of what she would be told.

After years of having repeat call backs for pap smear tests, she was to scared to even go along, she had many procedures but was at a point where she was in denial.

I asked her to come and see me to see if I could do something to help.

We all have cancer cells in us, which is a scary thought, but not everyone develops cancer, why ? What happens to some people that makes them a victim whilst other people, never have to worry.

Stress is the answer.

When we are in fight or flight mode, we can damage the immune system and or the gastro intestinal tract, this is because these two cannot be deprived even for a second.

During fight or flight everything is sent to the heart, because you are ready to take severe action, is it at these times we can be damaged and not know it.

So after explaining this to my client we discovered her childhood was full of fight and flight moments.

I knew I would be able to help her to heal, so we began her session.

When she was four years old, someone came into the house and kidnapped her father, She had no idea what was happening, but on seeing the fight of her father, she was in full adrenalin rush.

We were able to bring her to peace over this incident, and was able to heal the body, by positive suggestions and programming.

I am delighted to announce that Yesterday I got a call from her saying after the session she was brave enough to go back to the doctors and have been given the all clear!

Hypnosis is a incredibly powerful healing tool, sadly modern medicine does not always look at other alternatives, the one question I ask myself is, what if i had not been able to treat her?

A sobering thought.

So if you or anyone you know have been suffering medical issues and would like to learn how and why it is there and help it to heal please give me a call, I am here to help.

With a client coming for medical issues, we are required by law to get a written referral from the Clients doctor, you must always let your doctor know what you are going to do, so they can also be on board.

Hypnosis - A higher calling

Hypnosis is the tool I use to journey beyond the conscious mind into the hidden realms of the subconscious, where the answers and solutions to vexing problems and phobias dwell. When a subject is induced using hypnosis into the deepest subconscious level, the somnambulistic state, they can access past lives and the vast knowledge of Spirit itself.
Various methods of hypnosis have been in use for thousands of years, by the shamans of primitive tribal cultures, as well as by the philosophers of ancient Greece such as Socrates. The word hypnosis comes from the Greek word hypnos, meaning sleep.
In the recent past, hypnosis was most commonly used to help conquer harmful habits such as smoking or overeating and to reduce stress and anxiety. This is done through suggestion and positive reinforcement while the subject is in trance. But so much more can be discovered, including forgotten lives and knowledge, by inducing the subject into the somnambulistic state.

After regressing a subject into a past life using hypnosis, the person “wakes up” in a normal conscious state, but they were never actually asleep. The subject will often remark that they feel rested as if they had taken a refreshing nap, when in reality they were in a deep trance for hours in some cases.
This is partly because I guide my subjects with positive suggestions so that they feel rested upon “waking.” They also feel relaxed because they have temporarily bypassed the conscious mind, which is often preoccupied with worries about what is going on in the subject’s life. These day-to-day uncertainties belong to the conscious mind and are irrelevant and non-existent when a subject is immersed in the somnambulistic state.
Since the conscious mind isn’t active during hypnosis, most subjects only remember bits and pieces about their session, so I record each and every session to enable them to listen to what they revealed about themselves in this or a past life.
It’s always fascinating to watch a subject’s reaction when they listen to a tape of their session for the first time. And it’s always rewarding to be able to help a subject face an irrational fear, cure themselves of a stubborn illness, or just to experience the sense of wonder along with them when they meet their real or higher self.
Without hypnosis, none of these remarkable journeys would be possible.

Hypnosis can help with insomnia

How Hypnosis Helped Me Sleep

A few hypnosis sessions helped one writer finally remedy her insomnia

by Linda Yellin

how hypnosis helped me sleep

Photograph: Illustration By Aad Goudappel
My brown eyes are one of my most identifying traits. So are the dark circles underneath. If you, too, have insomnia, I don’t need to tell you why they’re there. You’re probably reading this at 3 am.
Over the years I’ve tried warm milk, warm baths, valerian tea, eye masks, no reading in bed, no TV in bed, sex before bed, no sex before bed. Nothing worked, so I tried Ambien, which did work, but I didn’t want to keep taking drugs. It was time to think outside the box springs. Especially after my buddy Mike in Chicago told me he’d quit a two-pack-a-day cigarette habit with hypnosis. Insomnia is a habit, right? I decided to see if hypnosis would break it.
Women are twice as likely as men to get insomnia, say researchers. “When we sleep, we actually sleep better than men, but we wake up more often,” says Kelly Glazer Baron, PhD, a clinical psychologist and behavioral sleep medicine specialist at Northwestern University in Chicago, whom I contacted for more information. “Insomnia relief takes effort. Hypnosis can be part of the arsenal.”
New York City certified hypnotherapist Melissa Tiers explained to me how it all works: “Being in a hypnotic state is close to how you feel in a movie theater. When you become absorbed in a film, you don’t say, ‘Hey! There’s an actor! And I can hear the dialogue over all the shooting—nice work, sound crew!’ ” Once you suspend your disbelief, you bypass your tendency to stop and evaluate what’s going on. You can become so engaged in a scary scene that you jump—even if the plot is ridiculous.
When you are hypnotized, you enter a similar kind of mental state. You are more suggestible than usual, and that provides an opportunity for you to rewire unconscious patterns, like that annoying one that keeps you up all night worrying you’re going to be up all night. A hypnosis session plays out in three steps, Tiers told me: induction, the focusing of attention, which puts you into a trance, which in turn leaves you open to a suggestion based on an image or phrase relating to something you’d like to change.
So was I a good candidate for hypnosis? Well, I can certainly get lost in a book or film, which is a very good sign. But Baron brought up another factor: “Do you have good visual imagery? Are you able to envisage something in your mind and re-experience emotions based on that picture? Some people don’t dream in pictures, but those who do have the imagination to respond to visual suggestions.”

Where did Hypnosis come from?

Hypnosis is a technique to direct person’s innate capabilities like imagination, imagery, attention and perception. During this process attention and imagination are increased and peripheral sensation and perception decreases. This can be induced by controlling trance from its beginning, Hypnotist is a knowledgeable person about this technique and all these induction methods. The subject’s ability of getting hypnotized is measured in Hypnotizability (Varies person to person)

HISTORY
  1. Anton Franz first discovered Hypnosis as a therapy.
  2. James Braid discovered Eye-fixation method to induce Hypnosis.
  3. Bernheim stated Hypnosis as a normal brain function.
  4. Dr. Sigmund Freud used hypnosis in his Psychoanalysis therapy to give relief to his patients under traumatic events.

TODAY

We use Hypnosis to Help people overcome their inner conflicts, we can use hypnosis to locate the root cause of an issue and deal with it effectively.
We can now use it in medical settings such as during Birth, Dentist chair and even during operations.

Hypnosis was once looked upon as something that was "out there" and something to be feared, only because not many people knew enough about it to be able to make an educated decision.

With  Acupuncture / Chiropractor and other "alternative" treatments out there we are pretty much able to move away from the pharmaceutical world we now find ourselves living in.

So if you have suffered enough and want to look into other forms of alternative therapy, Think about Hypnosis and what it has to offer, you will wish you had tried it sooner.

Do you worry about your networking skills?

We know that times are hard, and the way we do business has changed, but also we need to change the way we conduct ourselves in the business world.

Networking has become the fastest way of increasing business, this however can be a daunting task and can leave us feeling anxious and like a fish out of water.

Going to the meeting is one thing and mingling among the other members, but having to stand up and say a one minute talk about your business and what you are looking for can seem like the hardest thing you have ever been asked to do.

For many of us it takes us right back to being a child at school and being asked to stand up and say something in class.

Being able to be comfortable, clear and relaxed can make all the difference in the message you are getting across.

One on one meetings are also incredibly important, don't forget, when you join a new group, it will take some time for the group to learn to trust you, they need to get to know you, if all they ever heard was your one minute they won't always have a clear understanding of how you work, what you need and why you are asking for a certain lead/referral.

So a one on one meeting is very important, it shows the other member you respect them and you want to know about their business, Remember networking is all about what you can do for others, although you want business, networking is a two way street, you need to give first and receive later.

And it is not always about business, I have known many people who have found great friendships through networking, something I'm sure you agree is priceless.

So when thinking about your business and how you are going to promote it, are you emotionally ready? Are you able to stand with confidence, speak clearly and relax, do you have a clear one minute that will educate the group on what you are looking for.

Remember you are not selling to the group you are selling to the people THEY know.

I have been an active networker for over four years and have much to share with my clients wishing to make the most of this amazing opportunity to grow your business.

If this blog post has bought any issues up for you and this is something you are ready to improve, please call me, I am here to help you reach your goals.

Hypno Anesthesia?

Integrating Hypnosis Into Pre-Operative Anesthesia: Q&A With Lynette Bear, CRNA, of the Laser Spine Institute

Lynette Bear is a certified registered nurse anesthetist at the Laser Spine Institute ambulatory surgery center in Philadelphia, where she provides anesthesia for minimally invasive spine surgery. Ms. Bear is also a trained hypnotist and creator of "Integration of Hypnosis into Anesthesia Care," a program adopted by the Laser Spine Institute across all of its facilities.

Dr. Lynette Bear, CRNA, of Laser Spine InstituteDr. Bear has had an interest in hypnosis for many years, and her hypnosis work met requirements for her doctoral dissertation from Rush University in Chicago. Dr. Bear says her findings were comparable to other hypnosis leaders and cited a 2000 study conducted by Elvira Lang, MD, and a 2002 study by Guy Montgomery, PhD, who used "live hypnosis" rather than a recording.

Question: What exactly is hypnosis and how do you hypnotize patients before surgery?

Lynette Bear: Basically the formal definition most people in hypnosis accept is that hypnosis bypasses the critical factor. The critical factor is your conscious thought. We focus the patient's attention on something other than what is going on.

We are offering patients a recording for the pre-operative area for stress relief. Their focus is on a relaxing recording combined with music rather than everything going on around them. I developed the recording so patients could leave stress behind. Listening to it pre-operatively and in recovery is very relaxing. We have found that when a patient's blood pressure or heart rate is high, hypnosis helps. If you are using the hypnosis recording while starting an IV, the patient is focused on imagery and different things other than a needle going in their arm.

A surgery-specific hypnosis recording is used with anesthesia during surgery. Medication helps to put patients in a trance. The recording gives patients powerful suggestions for healing and well-being. The suggestions are focused in the "positive." For example, [the recording may say], "You'll have a nice appetite after surgery," rather than, "You won’t throw up."

With medication advances, anesthesia providers don't use hypnosis as often as they used to. Even as advances occur, there is growing population of patients asking for complementary adjuncts along with medication.

Q: Why did you look into implementing hypnosis at the Laser Spine Institute in Scottsdale, Ariz.?

LB: At Laser Spine Institute, we were faced with how we could do two things at once — improve patient satisfaction and minimize costs. I had always wanted to do hypnosis research, and I was working at a progressive company that strongly supported an idea to improve patient satisfaction and overall care. In addition, we were facing a propofol shortage and needed a way to conserve medication without sacrificing patient comfort. In my doctoral research, I found 35 percent of patients were requesting complimentary medicine in addition to anesthesia and patients were open to the idea of hypnosis.

A researcher in 2000 used hypnosis [in conjunction with anesthesia] and found that patients had decreased pain and anxiety, increased hemodynamic stability and required less medication. A similar study in 2007 found patients were ready for surgery more quickly with hypnosis and found a cost savings of $772 per patient. Once patients were more comfortable, they could start surgery more quickly and use less operating room time. A meta-analysis also showed 89 percent of patients could benefit with combined hypnosis and anesthesia.

Hypnosis in conjunction with anesthesia seemed like a win-win situation. We had a way that, according to research, could decrease our cost, would be effective for most patients and that any anesthesia provider could implement. Anesthesia providers were able to effectively use hypnosis with minimal hypnosis training.

Q: As a trained hypnotist, you conducted your own study on hypnosis with anesthesia. What was your process and findings?

LB: My hypnosis study was done on patients at Laser Spine Institute having minimally invasive spine surgery in our ASC in Arizona. I studied 123 patients in a control group and compared them to 130 patients in the hypnosis group. My study results showed that postoperative nausea and vomiting was statistically reduced with hypnosis; the rate of 1.5 percent while the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association reported rate was 2.5 percent in 2010.

In addition, my results showed a statistically significant decrease in recovery room time. Recovery time was reduced by 11.7 percent with hypnosis. Patients were more alert after anesthesia and recovered more quickly. Ninety-three percent of patients said that they would request hypnosis for future surgeries. Recovery room staff reported using less pain medication and anti-emetics, resulting in a cost savings. Recovery room staff overtime decreased due to quicker recovery and discharge of patients.

Q: How did you implement your findings once the study concluded?

LB: I relocated to the Laser Spine Institute in Philadelphia and started the program here. Our key emphasis is patient satisfaction. We have found that hypnosis decreases pain and anxiety during their surgical process and patients are comfortable when they are discharged.

Since we started using [hypnosis] in Philadelphia, our average patient satisfaction is 95 percent throughout all of our ambulatory surgery facilities. Ninety-seven percent of Philadelphia patients would recommend Laser Spine Institute to others, and our Philadelphia anesthesia satisfaction rates are consistently 96 percent or greater. Our high satisfaction rates are similar throughout most of our facilities. Our satisfaction surveys are performed by EdgeSurvey and compared to other ambulatory surgery centers.

How Stage Hypnosis has changed the view of Hypnotherapy

Interesting Article

Hypnosis has a public relations problem. For all its health benefits, it is like an outstanding public official who has gotten smeared by his evil twin. The image problem of clinical hypnosis is a result of years of hurtful comparison to stage hypnosis. A vaudeville act gone bad, stage hypnosis gives a black eye to the therapeutic practice of hypnosis.
For more than 100 years, while medical hypnosis languished in relative obscurity, stage hypnosis blossomed into an attractive and audience-appealing form of entertainment. Celebrities like Charles Dickens held house parties and toyed with hypnosis as entertainment. Hypnosis was very much in the public eye for its ability to impress audiences with what was often amusing results. Misused hypnosis was soon a theater event, giving rise to one modern-day catch-phrase: It will make you “cluck like a chicken”!

Worse for medical hypnosis was the publicity that came from an extremely popular novel of the late 19th century, titled “Trilby.” In the book, hypnotist Svengali turns Trilby into a brilliant singer, and in the process discovers that he can exploit her as his love slave. It’s like the Phantom of the Opera, himself, becomes sexual abuser. You can see why the very characterization, “Svengali” makes people shudder when they link this manipulation to the concept of hypnosis. Moreover, at that time, the power of hypnosis was generally thought to rely entirely on the hypnotist himself, rather than on the cooperation of the subject. It prompted a long-lived misconception of how hypnosis really worked.
Stage hypnosis today, following on this checkered history, relies on an eager, expectant audience, who give unspoken consent to cooperating in foolish ways, and being entertained by the foolishness of others. A good stage hypnotist, if he is not a total fraud, knows how to select the members of his audience for their suggestibility. He then brings those, who may already be in a self-willed trance, onto the stage, where he continues the selection process close-up. After he has his “best” subjects, he can impressively put them through their paces, to laughter of the audience. The great Kreskin himself dabbled in this kind of practice for a while in his career. In Denmark and Israel today, the performance of stage hypnosis is against the law.

Erectile Worries?

For most men they will suffer with this issue at least once in their lifetime, for others it may become a persistent thing, but what is really going on?

We all know that for men heart healthy is penis healthy, and even though you may be in really good shape physically, you may still have issues.

I want to explain a case study and see if this is within you.

A client came to see me with erectile issues and he had tried all the prescription medication the doctor had given him but he just wasn't comfortable taking pills, he knew it was a temporary fix but wasn't actually getting to the root of the issue, so he came to me for help.

He told me that he had always had issues but they had become more severe in the last few months and he was understandably concerned.

After the intake we got to the cause of the problem.

When he was 14 his mom caught him in his bedroom, doing what most 14 year old's do, he was so embarrassed but what was interesting was his moms reaction.

She shouted at him, called the whole family to his room and he was told that he was dirty, bad, disgusting and gross.

Apart from being horrified at being caught, his mom's reaction taught him that any thing to do with his penis was a bad thing, and in fact he was dirty for even thinking about "that kind of thing"

So he struggled with his emotions for the longest time, it seemed he had been able to overcome the issue, but the past two months it had returned and he did not know why.

He told me he had recently started dating a new lady and he was hopeful she was "the one" I asked him who does she remind you of?

My mom he answered!

Ah ha! There we have it, she reminds you of your mom so naturally when you are together all the shame and guilt comes back to you, no wonder there has been an issue.

So after uncovering this event and processing it through he is very happy indeed and able to really enjoy his new relationship with his girlfriend.

So if you have events you wonder about, think about the above case study, is this also inside of you?

If you are shy and don't feel you can sit in front of someone and talk about this sensitive issue, I have made a MP3 recording for erectile difficulties which may help.

HYPNOSIS….FOR CHILDBIRTH?!?

September 25, 2012 in DAILY NEWS
It goes without saying that many women find the thought of childbirth a little…well…terrifying and the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control revealed that about 60% of women who gave birth in 2008 received drugs (epidural) to ease the pain.
But the word on the street is that women in the Twin Cities are using a birthing method that may result in less pain and doesn’t include drugs. Wow.
KSTP reports on the method called, “hypnobirthing,” and it’s growing in popularity.
Now, when you think of hypnosis, there’s a good chance your vision includes some person swinging a pocket watch and making someone fall into a trance; but that’s not what hypnobirthing is about.  The technique promises a calm and comfortable birth including soft music… and only the use “four letter-word” used in the delivery room is calm.
Certified hypnotherapist, Megan Titcomb has delivered at least two children using this process.  “Most of the couples that choose to take the class usually have some sort of fear about pain or childbirth itself,” says Titcomb.  But she says birth can happen gently and easily.   She says it all starts with reducing fear, which happens by changing the terminology that’s associated with childbirth.
A contraction is called a surge or wave.  The term “due date” is replaced with “birthing time,” and “water breaking” is called the “membranes releasing.”  Additionally, women and their labor companions learn how to say no to drugs.  “Hypnobirthing,” Titcomb continues, “doesn’t teach that drugs aren’t an option; it’s just that most people who take a natural childbirth class are hoping for a natural childbirth.”
Birth centers in the metro along with most area hospitals approve of the method, including St. Joseph’s Hospital, which is known as a ‘hypnobirthing friendly facility.’  Would you do it?

The truth about Hypnosis

Learn the Truth about Hypnosis

Hypnosis is documented to have been used for over 3,000 years. The first known cure was by a temple priest.
The priest induced sleep, laid on hands and cured a conversion order (hysterical conversion).

Probably the most recognized name in Hypnosis is that of Dr. Franz Anton Messmer. Hence the term Messmerized.

Therapeutic Hypnosis is proven the most effective and fastest route to solve emotional issues (which are usually the source of physical problems).

American Health magazine reported the following findings from a recent study:
• Psychoanalysis: 38 percent recovery after 600 sessions.
• Behavior Therapy: (over-eating-smoking-addictions –stress –anxiety-) 72 percent after 22 sessions.
• Hypnotherapy: 93 percent recovery after six sessions.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool for weight loss — smoking cessation — anxiety and stress control.

Hypnosis works through suggestions to the sub-conscious mind. In a professional setting the Hypnocounsellor will lead you through a relaxation process, in which you will be totally aware of your surroundings but in a very relaxed state of mind and body.

You are not asleep, but feeling very relaxed, calm, and peaceful. In this relaxed state your conscious mind is aware and alert, but your subconscious mind comes to the forefront and is now open to the positive suggestions the Hypnocounsellor gives it in relation to the problems you are facing.

These positive suggestions will stay in your mind and will, in a positive manner, influence you in your choices and behaviors.
Your subconscious mind will always protect you and is only interested in your highest good, therefore you will never do anything under hypnosis that you would not do normally.

Hypnosis has been misunderstood by many because of what is called “stage hypnosis.” With stage hypnosis the volunteer is ready and agreeable to follow the Hypnotists instructions.

They have mentally agreed beforehand by volunteering to participate in a harmless exhibition, knowing full well what the outcome might be. There again, the subconscious mind realizes that there is no danger to it and allows it.

If you have been struggling with weight loss, or smoking cessation or problems with stress or anxiety Hypnosis may be the answer you are looking for.

Watch the Watch!

“You’re getting sleepy…Very, very sleepy…focus on the watch…”
For many, when they hear the word “hypnotist,” what comes to mind is an old movie or TV show.
In reality, hypnosis performed by a certified clinical hypnotist can help people who suffer from chronic pain, crippling phobias, or even the reduction of side effects felt by some going through cancer treatments.
Dr. Zastrow, a family practitioner at Hugh Chatham Family Practice, will be speaking on the subject at a lunch and learn event on Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Medical Conference Room at the hospital. This event is open to the public, and it is opened on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those who want to schedule an appointment with Dr. Zastrow can call (336) 526-2307.
As a teenager, Dr. Joseph Zastrow, now a family practitioner at Hugh Chatham Family Practice in Elkin, first experienced the positive power of hypnosis through his younger brother. Dr. Zastrow’s brother suffered from a developmental bone disease, and could not tolerate pain medications. After he had his wisdom teeth removed, a certified clinical hypnotist relieved his pain and taught him self hypnosis. With future medical procedures that followed, Dr. Zastrow’s brother relied on hypnosis to reduce pain to the point that only Tylenol was needed to alleviate what little pain he had.
With clinical hypnosis, a therapist can make suggestions designed to help one formulate specific internal processes (feelings, memories, images and internal self-talk) that can lead to a pre-determined outcome, such as experiencing less pain, overcoming fears, and so on.
Hypnosis is described as a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. An analogy is like using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun and make them more powerful. Similarly, when your mind is concentrated and focused, you are able to use it in powerful, positive ways, such as reducing pain, or warding off fear.

After practicing family medicine for a number of years, Dr. Zastrow took the opportunity to become a certified clinical hypnotist in 2000 from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). “It’s pretty extensive training process that includes a total of 60 hours of classroom time and monitored training,” he said. “The society restricts training to psychologists and other health professionals such as physicians, dentists and masters degree-level nurses, social workers, and therapists. Clinical hypnosis is only to be used in conformance with ASCH’s own training and licensing laws.” Today, ASCH has 1,700 members, and Dr. Zastrow is the Society’s president.
Once certified, Dr. Zastrow incorporated hypnosis into his care regimen for many of his patients.
“The reality is that hypnosis isn’t really putting people in a ‘trance.’ I serve more as a coach to help people focus attention on what is ailing them, so to speak,” Dr. Zastrow said.
As an example, Dr. Zastrow recently had a patient who had an enormous fear of needles. “She desperately needed a procedure done to preserve her health, but her phobia of needles was greater than her need to get well. After one session we got to the bottom of what her fear stemmed from, and she called me from the recovery room after her procedure to let me know she got through it. She even went on to get a flu shot!”
Beside the absolute care of patients, Dr. Zastrow has accomplished research. He even had the opportunity to see what the mind can do with a study of a NASCAR pit crew.
“Pit crews are all about precision and speed. The slightest distraction can cause things to go wrong very quickly. With one team, I saw through video how some of the guys were slipping up. After a few sessions of hypnosis, we helped them gain focus, speed and consistency. As an example, one guy was having trouble getting the second lug nut on correctly every time. After hypnosis, he never missed.”
Research has demonstrated that hypnosis can help a lot of people in a number of ways, including:
Treatment of chronic pain conditions from injuries or arthritis.
Reduction of pain during childbirth.
Reduction of nausea and vomiting by cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Elimination or reduction of skin conditions, such as warts. (Ever hear the saying “talk the warts off”?)
Alleviation of symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Common myths about hypnosis are that you won’t remember anything, or that it leads to memory enhancement, that you could be made to do something you don’t want to, or that your actions can be controlled under hypnosis, Zastrow says.
“The myths are just that…myths,” Dr. Zastrow said. “The mind is a very powerful thing. Through hypnosis, you can achieve some incredible things. I’ve seen it work, and that’s all the proof most need.”

How to get the most out of your study time!

The world we now live in is a faster more hectic pace than when I was at school, it seems these days the world demands a whole lot more than we are sometimes able to give.

With after school activities the school day for our children seems to be getting longer.

So what can we do to help ease the worry and stress ?

I have developed a great tool that can help young people to get the most out of their study time.

Hypnosis and Cancer Patients

Being a Clinical Hypnotherapist I am able to deal with medical conditions with the referral of a Doctor.

We can treat the side effects of Chemotherapy on a patient, by using a Control Room we can reduce all the symptoms effectively, helping the client to move through this difficult phase of treatment.

But did you know we can also uncover the actual cause of the cancer in a patient?

We all have the cancer cells in our bodies, which is a scary prospect, but for some people cancer is never an issue, for others it is something they just can't seem to shake.

Why is this ? How does it happen?

Our sub conscious mind can be adversely affected by experiences in life, sometimes if severe enough we will go into fight or flight mode, when this happens two things can happen, the immune system can be compromised because it simply can't be without oxygen for a split second also the Digestive tract can be compromised in the same way.

This can lead to a normal healthy body to become succeptible to Cancers and other issues.

For me if I have a client come for the side effects for Chemotherapy I also strongly advise a session to uncover and deal completely with the underlying cause of the cancer.

I have seen in the 10 years I have been in this field many women who have lived a period of life in an abusive household, to find they finally managed to get out, only to have a few years later for them to suffer with this disease, this is so unfair after everything they have been through, but I do now understand why it happens, but know there is something else that can be done.

So if someone you love or care about is going through this difficult time, let them know about this post, conduct research and give them the information. Or repost this information as you see fit.

You really could be saving a life.
